| Thallus foliose, ±loosely attached, broadly laciniately lobed. Lobes to 5 mm wide with ascending margins, strongly involute and crenate when dry, developing bluish, limbiform soralia on edges of upturned lower surface; soredia coarse, granular. Upper surface finely cobwebby-tomentose, often entangled in a loosely woven mat, greyish brown. Medulla white. Lower surface without apparent structures, white to pale cream; margins with blue-black, squarrose bundles of rhizohyphae. Apothecia and pycnidia unknown. CHEMISTRY: P+ yellow-orange, eriodermin. | ||
| Scattered in Qld, N.S.W. and Tas. Occurs on bark; a rather rare species from wet lowland rainforest. Widespread but scattered in the palaeotropics; Africa, SE Asia, New Zealand, Polynesia and also western North and South America. | ||
